  3. His acrylics are so crisp and detailed! My favorite one is "Totem II" it is of a bear with a little baby raccoon on its shoulder and its half in water and half not. And there is a squid like animal at the bears legs. But the baby raccoon is so cute. <3

  8. Wow! Really interesting--I'm especially a fan of the one with the bear sitting on top of the two cars and the way the water seems to distort them. I'm also liking that 3-headed tiger. Reminds me of Fluffy.

At first I thought it was kind of weird cause i thought he made it on the computer.. then i went to the paintings section and realized he used acrylic paint- crazy!! It does not look like paint! And then I gained more respect for him cause I realized I couldn't think outside the box like him and think of all those weird animal distortion things.. really cool

  10. ahhh! his paintings are amazing! i cant believe how realistic they are. they remind me of sid from toy story doing weird things to his toys... i love how they are paintings because at first i thought they were made on the computer! he really thinks differently and i think he is really talented.

  11. These remind me of like a modern day Pocahontas thing with the birds and leaves...it probably doesn't look like that to anyone else though. He is a really talented painter! I also think its really cool how he creates a base for his subjects to be on and they look like they are 3D

  12. I checked out his sketchbooks and was really impressed by all the sources he compiled for each of his images. He would brainstorm in words--sometimes for several pages--about what messages he wanted to portray...which is SO cool because even though they seem a little random, there's meaning. Plus I think he used figurines, zoo pictures, and pictures of ordinary things just for background. Wow I wrote a lot but I really liked this guy!

  13. His work is so scientific. I like this kind of art because it requires a lot of thought to make. It isn't nearly as simple as putting blobs of paint and texture onto a canvas as some artists do.

  14. WOW! There's so much detail in his art it's hard to believe that they're actually paintings. I really like how he combined nature and wildlife with man-made items. Some of his paintings made me think about how humans are taking away the natural environment and habitat for many animals by continuously building more and more. I also really like how his paintings were abstract, for example, the deers with antlers that turned into geese heads. What cool ideas!

  16. WOW! this guys amazing! i like how his paintings look like they are 3-d through how he paints the ground/water in a block form. I really like his piece "shedding." I like how he uses the butterflies to peel away all but the bone from the horse.

  17. I'm diggin this guy's sketchbook charcoal and pencil work! some of the stuff is so detailed but fascinating to look at! I especially love the picture labeled hive #2 with all of the people in a confusing blob!

  18. I like how he makes things look three dimensional, and also replaces objects that look similar with each other, i.e. the stag antlers. Interesting to look at too!

  19. It's incredible how smooth and clean these are. I thought they were photomanipulations in the thumbnail!

  20. Those are Acrylic? Wow, if you didn't say that I would have thought they were Photoshop or something. I'm loving these, especially the one on the right, i have a thing for logos and advertisements, especially companies that have been around for awhile. [ Random fact...]
