Yummy, Yummy, Yummy

I hope that you are all enjoying your little homework assignment this weekend. I have been stalking around looking at artists as well trying to find judges for the Scholastic Art Awards this year. I came across this artist....Palmarin Merges. Yummy doesn't even begin to express how much I LOVE her work. It delicious. If you go and look at her work, pay attention to the media she uses. So great.

  1. Sophia Nielson - These are so beautiful...I loved her descriptions about each piece especially because knowing some of the meaning behind each one to her gave me more meaning too. Her layering was amazing and my favorite part--especially in the series with the stag and the humingbirds. It makes me want to make prints!!

  4. Oh my gosh. These inspire me to make something with a black background.. I never usually do that! I am a big fan. Also just a side note, the word yummy.... Kinda grosses me out? Not sure why.

  5. Other than the black one (which I like too), a lot of her pieces have interesting backgrounds that have lots of wild things going on. I enjoy it

  8. There's one particular callograph called River Notes that really gave me thinking it looked like a zebra pattern but not so much that I could tell her inspiration was from water :)

  11. When you click on "collagraph" I really enjoy the picture that first pops-up. I would love to learn how to do this and use different types of media in a way to create a textured surface.
